Principal’s Message

Welcome to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour School Community

Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Primary School is a small Catholic community located on the North Shore within the Diocese of Broken Bay. At OLPS, we pride ourselves on providing students with a holistic education that nurtures the development of faith, learning, and personal growth.

We are an inclusive community that welcomes students and families of all backgrounds, cultures, and religions. We aim to provide an authentic Catholic education that promotes learning, relationships, and human flourishing. Our Mercy values of Compassion, Excellence and Stewardship are embedded in every aspect of learning at OLPS, and children are given many opportunities to experience God’s love through their encounters with others, individual and community prayer, and regular liturgical celebrations.

OLPS has a culture of respect which honours the dignity of each person. Our teachers are highly committed, innovative, and passionate educators, with student learning being the primary objective of our work. We maintain a dedicated focus on continuous improvement to build teacher capacity and ensure we provide the highest quality education to meet the individual needs of every student.

We believe that education enriches and empowers each student and prepares them for the best future possible. Our curriculum is dynamic, engaging, intellectually challenging, and diverse, enabling us to respond to the needs of our students in a rapidly changing world.

We acknowledge and strongly value the significance of parent partnership, with parents recognised as valued, welcomed, and respected members of our school community. We are committed to strengthening the connection between school, parish, and families as we work together to support student growth and wellbeing.

As we look to the future, our community is preparing for an exciting next chapter with the establishment of Siena Catholic College in 2027. In partnership with Catholic Schools Broken Bay, this co-educational K to 12 College will bring together the two parish schools of OLPS West Pymble and Sacred Heart Pymble, to provide a seamless Catholic education from Kindergarten to Year 12, ensuring continuity of learning, pastoral care, and faith formation. Drawing inspiration from St Bernardine of Siena and St Catherine of Siena, the new College will honour the enduring presence of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady, preserving the rich traditions and charisms of both founding schools.

The implementation of Siena Catholic College is being led by Brenda Timp, previously principal of Mercy Catholic College who has vast leadership experience with over 25 years in Catholic education. Brenda will work collaboratively with Kerry Paxton, Principal Sacred Heart Pymble (Senior Campus) and myself as Principal, OLPS West Pymble (Junior Campus) to continue preparations for the establishment of the College in 2027, as we welcome our first Year 7 intake. Siena Catholic College will provide families on the North Shore with additional choice for secondary school and a seamless pathway for those seeking a Catholic education for their children from Kindergarten through to Year 12.

On behalf of the OLPS school community, I extend to you and your family a warm welcome. I invite you to take the opportunity to visit our school, tour the grounds, and meet our dedicated and dynamic team as we continue to grow in faith, learning, and community, and look with hope toward our shared future as part of Siena Catholic College.
